An ‘ECG’ produces an “electrical image” of the heart. This non-invasive test allows A/Professor Alford to evaluate the heart rhythm, determine whether the electrical system of the heart is functioning properly, and whether parts of the heart might be enlarged or damaged.

This test generally takes less than 5 minutes, and requires a patient to lie on their back whilst electrodes are placed on the arms, chest and legs.
